About David Bigelow
David A Bigelow DAB was born in London Ontario Canada 1965 after studying in art in high school spent half of his working career as a tool and die maker working with technical drawings and the other half as a technology teachers help students creating design concepts. David Currently lives in Hamilton Ontario for more information visit Becoming the artist DAB blog
Working with a limited pallet, I mix the primary colour pigments to create detailed images with vivid colours representing both real world and imaginary location. Combining both the real and imaginary objects and locations I am able to create both authentic location and peaceful alternatives where feel I can travel inside my paintings while I create them.
Just as physical limitations directed me away from a precision applied work life of a tool and die maker to the explorative educational life of a technology teacher in the United Kingdom and Canada, resent changes have pushed me from the physical traveller to the metal surveyor.
Hamilton Ontario also known as the hammer steel city has a very surprising amount of natural and historical beauty. Boasting more than 100 waterfalls and other natural scenic wonders , working with acrylic and canvas I hope to share some of the location with you and hope you enjoy them.
